Evets endorsement

The European Society of Digital and Integrative Pathology is committed to promoting the highest standards of education, research, and clinical practice in the Digital Pathology field.

As part of this mission, we offer endorsement for events or other activities that align with our core values of advancing knowledge, improving patient care, and fostering professional development.

The following activities are eligible for scientific endorsement:

  • Scientific events: congresses, conferences, courses, seminars, workshops, meetings and symposia.
  • Consensus documents and diagnostic-therapeutic guidelines.
  • Informative documents: brochures, recommendations, leaflets, diptychs.
  • Online activities
  • Any other scientific activity of interest in the field of digital pathology.

Endorsement from ESDIP signifies that the event meets rigorous standards and criteria of scientific and educational quality, such as:

  • The event aligns with ESDIP’s mission to advance digital pathology development and research.
  • The event content must be based on sound, peer-reviewed science, and evidence-based content.
  • All presentations and sessions must be free from commercial bias.
  • The faculty and presenters must be actively contributing to the field.
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest is required for all faculty and organizers.
  • The event should promote education and collaboration within the pathology community, particularly targeting healthcare professionals, researchers, computer scientists, and students.

By endorsing select events, we aim to:

  • Support the dissemination of cutting-edge research and best practices.
  • Foster professional growth and collaboration within the community.
  • Ensure that participants receive high-quality, unbiased education that contributes to improved clinical performance and patient outcomes.

The organizer should contact us at least three months before the event. At that time, we will require the following information: the name of the organizer, the title of the event, the date of the event, and a preliminary version of the scientific program. This will ensure that we have ample time to make any necessary preparations and arrangements.

Event organizers seeking endorsement are encouraged to review these guidelines thoroughly and ensure that their event meets the outlined criteria.
Please remember that ESDIP endorsement is for the promotion of education in general; therefore, the specific content of the event/course is the sole responsibility of the organizer.

Procedure for the processing of the endorsement

The application for the endorsement must be submitted via e-mail by the scientific director responsible for the activity to be developed. This must be a person from the academic, health care, teaching or research world, not belonging professionally directly to the pharmaceutical industry. Representatives or positions of the industry or service provider companies (publishing houses, travel agencies, technical secretariats, etc.) cannot appear as scientific directors.
The application must be sent at least 3 months in advance of the date foreseen for the start of the activity. If this deadline is not met, the processing of the application cannot be guaranteed.
All the documentation necessary for the evaluation of the activity must be attached: program, schedule of activities, or any other documentation related to the activity to be evaluated.
If during the processing process any change related to the sponsorship, participating entities (among others) should occur or take place, it must be communicated as soon as possible to guarantee the reliable conditions under which the endorsement is evaluated and granted, avoiding possible distortions.
Under no circumstances will the ESDIP endorse any type of activity that presents a conflict of interest with its own activities, either by coincidence in the subject matter, dates, times, transparency, previous commitments or any strategic criteria so decided.

Control of the endorsed activities

ESDIP reserves the right to carry out controls of the activities it scientifically endorses in order to verify compliance with what was requested and may revoke the endorsement granted when it foresees or verifies important deviations from the initial objective proposed when it was requested. If this situation occurs, the applicant entity will be disqualified for the following 2 years to request again any type of endorsement from ESDIP.
